PubSub
Your host Paul Kimmel is spending a lot of time with pubsub this week. It is an interesting prospective aggregation tool. Instead of entering a search string as you do with Google and getting a retrospective, PubSub let's stores your search criteria and then tells you when items occur in the future that match your criteria. With Google you'd return and repeat you search every 15 minutes or whatever. With PubSub it pushes search results to you. Discovering practical applications is a process, but it is very intriguing.

Vegemite
Woo hoo! My vegemite just came in the mail. A few years ago I was working in Hoboken and a friend, Tony Cowan turned me on to this stuff. The consistency of peanut butter, tastes like Yankee pot roast... Vegemite is to spreads what Guinness is to beer. Finally found a place that delivers, Simply Australian http://www.simplyoz.com/
Haven't heard from Tony in a while. If anyone sees him tell him Paul said Hi. Last I heard he was in the UK.

Dan Brown
These Dan Brown novels--Da Vinci Code, Digital Fortress, and Demons and Angels--are addictive. If you like conspiracy, spy novels, clever plot twists, historical art references then you'll love Brown. I thought the Da Vinci Code was about bible secrets or something, like Nostradamus' predictions. Glad the guy at Barnes and Nobel recommended it. After a sleepless weekend reading Digital Fortress and Demons and Angels I went back to B&N and got the "Code" and picked up Deception Point. A new Elmore Leonard book is out too; Hot Kid I think it is.
(Tried to spell check my post, but the composition page has a bug. Bummer. Where is an editor when you need one?!)

Brain Droppings and Mercenaries
I am in Redmond, Washington hanging out, trying to learn some new things. Haven't elected to blog in the past because in my mercenary fashion I try to get paid for writing things just like this.
